Ok so i think this is where Valli belongs....stellar collection.....its been a while since ive felt couture fever (calling Galliano) and this was as close as it gets to old world glam....Valli for me has always been hit and miss ...his first collection was fantastic then he lost me til maybe the last couple of shows....spring 2011 being my favourite....He definitely should have been a shoe in after Ungaro's departure but we know what a mess that became....you can definitely see a Ungaro influence in his work ...the lightness and color in the voluminous last gowns ....with the exception of some pieces that were busy with ornament or awkward accessories i think this was a fantastic first step out ...cant wait to see whats in store....and is it me or has Sasha Pivovarova never looked better...hotness

MADAME GRES EXHIBIT AT THE BOURDELLE IN PARIS

Mme. Grés was one of the great couturiers of the 20th century with a career spanning over 50 years. Born in 1903, Grés trained as a sculptor and later said that working with fabric was the same as working in stone. She was most famous for her exquisite and intricate draped creations, many of them influenced by Greek sculptures. She opened her couture house in 1942 and worked with the dedication of a monk till 1988, always refining and perfecting her craft. Even though she was a legendary draper, interestingly enough she didn't know how to sew. Although she was Jewish, the Nazis allowed her to keep her atelier open during WWII, but she refused to dress the the wives of the Nazi officers. She worked mostly with silk jersey, which was the ideal fabric for her wearable masterpieces. The exhibit is appropriately set against Antoine Bourdelle's majestic sculptures which makes for a compelling visual presentation.....it goes on til July 24th 2011 ...if youre in Paris...check it out!

What can i say that hasnt been said.....I've always felt strongly about Riccardo Tisci's talent from the get go. But this collection catapults him to genius status ..yes maybe a little early in his career but i can count on my fingers how many collections that snatched the breath right out of me like this did........the layers upon layers of eye candy from the precision cut fringe the porcelaind spinal cord belt the degrade feathers....and gutsy clever application of bling....This was above and beyond what everyone else presented.....I cant wait to see whats next...hats off.

I guess the theme is color today....Cant get enough of Mr. Ghesquiere....this collection was a flood of inspiration...Balenciaga pre fall was an ingenious take on the seasons trend... color...the signature blending of luxury with tech...the prints, volume, the bold primary color tights finished off with those HEELS!!! did i mention the gloves..ecstacy.....and maybe its me but i feel more and more a focus on saleability(is that a word?) which is cool... but even better ...the edge is still there.... Still hands down my fave.

If youre a regular on this site, you know i love me some Jeremy Laing....and he didnt disappoint .....I find his strongest work comes at at the spring collections. This collection is killer!!.... he used clever draping and visually appealing line graphics to create pieces that were not only delishus but looked great both coming and going......everywhere your eye went there was something interesting to look at ....the color palette was sophisticated and although it was a bit avantgarde the patchy legging thingy brought the look together...hats off.....Someone back this dude....he's goin places.

This collection by Simon Spurr is refreshing given all the hipster stuff thats getting major coverage out there. Great wardrobe coverage.....I'm definitely loving and going to use the huge bloom as accessory this spring.....and the sued brogue to finish it off.....sweet...its relaxed young...elegant....cant wait to see how this line develops.

Not usually a fan of McQueen's mens wear but i had to take note this season ....first im a sucka for static presentations.....second the styling was grown up clean while keeping McQueen's subversive aesthetic.....and last but certainly not least the clothes.....they had a kinda worn patina...made me think american frontier made new......clever use of paint finishes....the banded dress pants the sharp tailoring....the patchwork...that hat ....i LOVE that hat....and the model was just perfect to showcase all that.....I only wish this is the beginning of more of this .....

Another fantastic show from Tisci.......The strength of this collection was the prints....he took the now ubiquitous kaffiyeh print and made it new.....the editorial coverage on this is gonna be majah.....also his trademark draping with chunky metallic embelishments were stellar.....I have to say my money was on this dude from the get go after the seasons of designer musical chairs at the house I think Givenchy has found its perfect fit....cant wait to see whats next.

I could quite literally post all the pics from this collection.Thats how much i loved it. Its got a sophisticated parisian/waspy 70s aesthetic that im sure will guarantee great sellthrough once it hits the floors which should be any moment now. I dont know about you but these inbetween collections are giving the more official ones a run for their money.....and i've said it before ...i'll say it again the static presentations rule!......Dont walk ..run and get you some.

Klein Bottle House is located in Rye, Australia and designed by Rob Mcbride. The unusual home design was inspired by its namesake: The Klein Bottle. This 19th century invention is used to describe a form which has no distinguishable inside or outside. The house recently won the Harold Desbrowe-Annear Award in architecture and it is made from concrete sheets and black metal, which are both folded and twisted to create the multitude of angles.
